Crochet tank top - free pattern!

I finished this tank top just in time for the heatwave thats happening in Britain at the moment (tshirts in March - whats happening!?!?!) typical.

Size 0-3 months
6mm needle
complete guess as I used leftover wool but I'd say 100g each colour (3 colours)


Body

Co 70
sc 1 row, join to for a round
dc 15 rows

 left strap

dc 15, turn
ch2, dc15 turn
ch2, dc2tog, dc to last 2 stitches, dc2tog
dc around
dc  to the last 2 stitches, dc2tog
dc
fasten off

right strap

leave gap of 5 stitches front centre
join wool and dc 15, turn
ch2 dc 15 turn
ch2 dc2tog, dc to last 2 stitches, dc2tog
dc
dc2tog, dc to end
dc
fasten off

Back

Leaving a gap of 3 stitches for the armhole at the side, dc 12, turn
dc12
dc to last 2 stitches, dc2tog
dc
dc to last 2 stitches, dc2tog
dc
slip stitch both sides of straps together (or sew together, whichever is yor preferred method!)

Repeat for other side once again leaving a gap of 3 stitches for armhole at side.

Finishing off


Attach yarn at neckline (anywhere it doesnt matter)
sc around twice to create neckline. fasten off

Attach yarn to armholes and do 1 row of sc around.

  3. Easy easy easy! And quick! Would be a great "go to" pattern for an emergency baby shower or for making multiple vests for hospital donation. Only change I made was to do hdc instead of dc (US terminology) to eliminate the holey-look, making a closer weave. Good pattern.
